Hey! I’m so excited that you’re considering getting tattooed with me. Here are some common questions people ask before booking, plus some aftercare tips to make sure your new tattoo heals perfectly.

How do I book an appointment?
Booking with me is super easy! Just fill out the online booking form HERE and we’ll go from there. I do most consultations by email, but if you prefer to chat in person, I’m open to that, too. Once we’ve talked about your design and you’re ready to lock it in, I’ll need a deposit of $75.00. This deposit holds your spot and will be applied to your final session.

Your deposit is non-refundable, but if something comes up and you need to reschedule, just let me know 3 business days in advance, and I’ll transfer it to a new date. Payment options? I accept cash, credit card, or email transfers—whatever’s easiest for you.

How much does it cost?
My hourly rate is $125. It really depends on how long the tattoo takes, so I can give you a rough estimate during the consultation. Just a heads-up—my rates stay the same whether we’re at the studio, a convention, or a guest spot.

What’s the minimum cost?
If your tattoo takes under 30 minutes, the minimum is $100. This is with the understanding that the tattoo is quick and simple.

How should I prepare for my tattoo?
Before your session, make sure to eat a good meal! Bring some water or orange juice, it helps with blood sugar, especially for longer sessions. Snacks are cool (as long as they’re not messy), so feel free to bring something like nuts, berries or a granola bar. And please, please don’t show up hungover. Tattoos are tough enough without adding that into the mix!

Does it hurt?
Honestly, pain is different for everyone, but it’s usually not as bad as you’d think. Certain spots (like ribs or feet) tend to hurt more, but areas like your arms or legs are more manageable, especially for first-timers. Trust me—it’s worth it!

Can I use numbing cream?
I get it, numbing cream sounds tempting. But honestly, it usually causes more problems with the skin and the final look of your tattoo. If you’re thinking about using it, just talk to me first, and we’ll figure it out. Heads up—if you use it without telling me, I won’t be able to guarantee free touch-ups later.

Can you draw something for me before I book?
I love creating custom designs, but I only do drawings for clients who have locked in an appointment. Once we’re booked, I usually finish the drawing close to your session date, but we can make small changes when we meet, if needed. I don’t send drawings ahead of time—it keeps the process exciting and collaborative.

Can you tattoo a design I found online?
I don’t replicate internet designs because your tattoo should be personal to you! I’d love to work with you to create something custom that reflects your style and story.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens, I get it! Just let me know at least 72 hours (3 business days) in advance, and I’ll move your deposit to a new date. If it’s last minute or no-show, the deposit is non-refundable because it covers the time I’ve already spent preparing for your appointment.

What if I’m late?
Running a little behind? No worries—just send me a quick email or message. If you’re more than 20 minutes late without giving me a heads-up, it’ll be considered a no-show, and you’ll lose your deposit. Let’s keep communication open so we can make it work!

Where are you located, and where can I park?
I tattoo out of
Magnolia Tattoo Collective, which is a cozy studio in Coopers Crossing, Airdrie, AB. We’re on the second floor of the Clock Tower building at Unit 1107, 401 Coopers Boulevard SW. You’ll find plenty of parking around, and there are no time limits, so you’re good!

Do you offer touch-ups?
Yes, I offer one free touch-up within a reasonable time frame after your tattoo is complete, as long as you’ve followed the aftercare instructions. Picking at your tattoo or not letting it heal properly might void the free touch-up, so it’s important to take care of it!

Do you tattoo people under 18?
I only tattoo clients who are 18 or older, even with parental consent. But if you’re excited to get your first tattoo on your 18th birthday, we can chat beforehand and plan something special!

Tattoo Aftercare

Taking care of your tattoo is key to making sure it heals beautifully. Here’s what to do:

  • Leave the bandage on for 24-48 hours unless I tell you otherwise. This keeps your tattoo protected and prevents it from sticking to clothes or sheets. If it does stick, don’t panic—just soak it with warm water and gently peel it off.
  • After removing the bandage, wash the area with warm, soapy water. Use a mild, unscented soap (think Dove, Ivory, or a baby soap) and wash with just your hands—no loofahs or cloths.
  • Make sure you’ve washed off all the plasma and any fluids, then pat it dry with a paper towel—don’t rub!
  • I’ll give you a second bandage (SecondSkin), which you should leave on for 4-6 days. You can shower with it, but be gentle with your tattoo.
  • Once you’ve removed the second bandage, moisturize 1-2 times a day with unscented lotion (Aveeno or Lubriderm are good options).

What to Avoid:

  • No soaking your tattoo in water (pools, lakes, hot tubs) for 2-4 weeks, depending on how it’s healing. Showers are fine—just avoid soaking.
  • Avoid tanning or direct sun exposure for at least two weeks. After it’s healed, always use SPF 80-100 to keep your tattoo looking vibrant.
  • Skip the gym for 5-7 days. Heavy sweating and intense workouts can damage the tattoo and slow down healing.

Got questions? Feel free to reach out anytime! Your tattoo’s healing process is just as important as getting the tattoo itself, so let’s make sure you’re all set.
